    ACT Syllabus & Training

    ACT exam pattern is as follow- four sections, namely, English, Math, Reading and Science and an optional section which is called the Writing section, which has one 30-40 minute writing prompt that will define an issue, along with two points of view on that issue. Students are not scored on this section.

    English Assessment

    This section lasts for 45 minutes and has 75 questions. It also has subsections which includes;

  • Puntuation
  • Grammar and Usage.
  • Sentence Structure.
  • Rhetorical Skills.
  • Strategy.
  • Organization.
  • Style.
    • Math Assessment

    This section lasts for 60 minutes and has 60 multichoice questions. It also has subsections which includes;

  • Pre-algebra.
  • Elementary algebra.
  • Intermediate algebra.
  • Coordinate geometry.
  • Plane geometry.
  • Trigonometry.
    • Reading Assessment

    This section lasts for 35 minutes and has 40 multichoice questions. It also has subsections which includes;

  • Data representation like graphs and tables.
  • Research summaries.
  • Conflicting viewpoints.
    • Optional Writing Test

    This section lasts for 40 minutes
